James Vroom, BS, MFT-I

I work with adults and couples navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, social anxiety, and men’s mental health concerns. I also have experience supporting first responders and veterans. My sessions are supportive and approachable, but I’m not afraid to challenge long-held beliefs or stuck patterns. I believe therapy is most effective when it offers a place to be genuinely vulnerable while also pushing toward change, with humor and honesty helping to make the hard work possible. My approach is collaborative, practical, and rooted in understanding the full context of your life.

Drawing from Solution-Focused, Narrative, and Gottman Method therapies, I help clients examine the stories they tell themselves, recognize their strengths, and develop strategies that align with their own goals and values. I see therapy as more than just talk. It should consider somatic, systemic, and cultural factors to support true, lasting change. I define success in therapy by your terms, not mine. I aim to offer a dependable, grounded space where you can clarify what matters most to you and work toward meaningful goals with greater resilience and self-awareness. Whether you’re seeking individual support or wanting to strengthen your relationship, I’m committed to meeting you where you are and helping you navigate the complexities of life with clarity and confidence.
